Forestry Mulching & Land Clearing in Pittsboro, Moncure, and Siler City

Chatham Highlands

Primary Focus: Pittsboro, Moncure, and Siler City (27312, 27559, 27344)

Preserving the Natural Beauty of Chatham County’s Large Acreage

Landowners in Chatham County face some of the most challenging terrain in the Piedmont. From the rocky ridges of Siler City to the river-fed bottomlands of Moncure, traditional clearing with a bulldozer is often impossible or environmentally damaging. Our forestry mulching service is the ideal solution for the 2 to 100+ acre owner who wants to clear land without disturbing the "Chatham slate" or creating massive erosion issues.

We specialize in high-visibility land improvement that turns thickets of "trash trees" and invasive vines into a clean, walkable forest floor that mimics the natural aesthetic of the North Carolina Highlands.

Serving the Backroads, Ridges, and Crossroads (20-Mile Radius)

We provide hyper-local service to the following Chatham communities:

  • The Pittsboro & Central Chatham Sector: Pittsboro, Fearrington, Gum Springs, Bynum, and the rural stretches surrounding Jordan Lake.
  • The Moncure & Deep River Hub: Moncure, Haywood, Corinth, and the acreage near the Shearon Harris reservoir.
  • The Siler City & Western Highlands: Siler City, Silk Hope, Snow Camp (Chatham side), Bonlee, Bear Creek, Goldston, and Bennett.
  • The North Chatham / Orange Border: Hadley, Eli Whitney, and the rural routes toward Chapel Hill.
  • Major Arteries Covered: We frequently work along US-64, US-15-501, US-1, NC-87, and NC-902.

Why Mulching is the Only Choice for Chatham Terrain

  • Managing the Rocky "Slate" Soil: Chatham is famous for its rocky soil and steep grades. A traditional blade will often "bounce" or create deep scars that lead to washouts. Our mulching heads sit on low-impact tracks, allowing us to clear on slopes and rocky ground while leaving the soil structure intact.
  • Hardwood Protection: Chatham owners value their Oak, Hickory, and Beech trees. We can surgically remove the "ladder fuels"—like Cedar, Sweetgum, and Greenbrier—without damaging the root systems of your prize hardwoods.
  • Pasture & Trail Reclamation: For the horse farms in Silk Hope and Bear Creek, we reclaim overgrown fence lines and create miles of riding trails through dense woods without the need for hauling or burning.

Local Project Insight: Silk Hope / Silk Hope-Liberty Rd

Recent Project: We recently completed a 20-acre "understory thin" for a family estate near Silk Hope. The land had become impassable due to 20 years of unchecked Sweetgum regrowth and invasive Autumn Olive. We mulched the entire 20 acres, creating a park-like canopy and significantly reducing the wildfire risk for the primary residence.
